royalty free music youtube channels

You have the perfect video script, the recording went well, but during the editing process, you notice something is missing: the music. However, you already know the YouTube audio library by heart and have a hard time finding what you need on other royalty free music websites. Luckily, there are plenty of YouTube musicians that have decided to grant other YouTubers the right to use their music for their YouTube videos for free. A lot of these tracks are “fresh” and haven’t been used as much as many of the other tracks from royalty free libraries.

Disclaimer: although these channels offer royalty free music in general, please check each individual video for which rights the creators grants you and whether you have to credit them. Many of the tracks are free specifically for the use in YouTube videos. If you want to use the tracks in somewhere else (for example a game), make sure you have the permission first to avoid legal trouble.

1. RoyalTrax tutorial

RoyalTrax offers a selection of royalty free electronic music from different artists. Their tracks have a high production value and are fun to listen to even if you don’t have a YouTube channel. Many tracks of the selection are melodic and intense and would be perfect for all kinds of video montages.

2. Ross Bugden

Ross Bugden creates royalty free music that could easily be used in an epic movie or adventure game. His tracks are extremely atmospheric and beautifully melodic. Many of his songs can be used outside of YouTube as well. Ross Bugden has also published a selection of uplifting tracks that could be used in inspirational videos and vlogs, for example. Here my favorite one:

3. NoCopyrightSounds

To quote NoCopyrightSounds: “NoCopyrightSounds is a music collective dedicated to releasing FREE music for the sole purpose of providing creators with the finest sounds to enhance the creativity and popularity of your content.” They offer a wide array of electronic music tracks that come from genres such as dubstep and hardstyle. Most of their music is very energetic and could be the perfect choice for gaming content as well as fast-paced video montages. NoCopyrightSounds upload new videos regularly – so make sure to subscribe to their channel if you don’t want to miss the latest tracks.

4. ZeroCopyrightMusic

ZeroCopyrightMusic is another royalty free music channel that focuses on electronic music. What makes ZeroCopyrightMusic different from other electronic music channels is that the tracks are less on the energetic and intense side and more on the chilled-out, slow-paced side. This makes them the ideal background score for many vlogs.

5. OurMusicBox

OurMusicBox is the channel by composer Jay Man, who has created more than 5,000 tracks from a wide array of genres and is now uploading them on his YouTube channel. All of Jay Man’s tracks are licensed under Creative Commons and only require you to credit and link to him. Besides offering full tracks, he has also created many short jingles that can be used for channel intros. What’s special about Jay Man’s OurMusicBox is that his music is extremely diverse and are even suited for corporate videos or more filmic work.

6. Free Songs To Use

Free Songs To Use uploads electronic music from genres such as house, progressive, melodic, tropical, future house, big room, trap, chill step, drumstep, dubstep and hip hop. The selection is curated well and has a high production value. Many of the tracks are very melodic and fun to listen to by themselves. At the moment, the channel is uploading new tracks almost every day.

7. Creative Commons kingdom

Creative Commons kingdom is curating creative commons music from all kinds of different composers and sources. While a lot of their tracks fall in the electronic category, there are some notable exceptions with orchestral, acoustic and pop arrangements. Here is an example:

8. Argofox

Argofox is another YouTube channel that focuses on royalty free electronic music. Many of the tracks are perfectly suited for vlog-style videos and video montages and some even for corporate use. Argofox uploads new videos every week and has more than 200 videos.

9. myuu

myuu’s channel is all about “dark” music. His pieces are a perfect fit for dark dramas, horror films, games and horror-style YouTube channels. While all of this music is dark and atmospheric, his arrangements vary: piano, orchestra, guitar and electronic soundscapes are blended together to creep out you and your viewers.

10. HolFix

HolFix makes music “for everyone to enjoy and use for free.” Their tracks fall under many different categories, such as solo piano, chiptune, electronic and orchestral. Make sure to credit HolFix when you use one of their tracks. This one would be a great fit for many vlogs or explainer videos, for example:

11. Spike’s Vibes

Spike from Spike’s Vibes is mostly creating hip hop beats, many of them „chill-out“, some of them darker and tenser. Especially the more relaxing tracks in the collection would work great in many vlogs. All of his music is royalty-free if you credit him with a link to his channel.

How to Download With uTorrent

Written by Jack Lloyd

Updated: May 22, 2020

This wikiHow teaches you how to download BitTorrent files with uTorrent, a free torrent program. Before you download anything through uTorrent, you may want to set up protocol encryption, which ensures that your uTorrent program's connection to a torrent's server is secure. Keep in mind that downloading copyright-protected content for which you haven't paid for is internet piracy as well as copyright infringement and can be prosecuted with harsh federal penalties.

Part1
Enabling Protocol Encryption

  1. Image titled Download With uTorrent Step 1
    1
Open uTorrent. This app resembles a white "µ" on a lime-green background. The uTorrent window will open.
  2. Image titled Download With uTorrent Step 2
    2
Click Options (Windows) or uTorrent (Mac). It's in the upper-left side of the uTorrent window. A drop-down menu will appear.
  3. Image titled Download With uTorrent Step 3
    3
Click Preferences. This option is near the top of the drop-down menu. Clicking it opens the Preferences window.
  4. Image titled Download With uTorrent Step 4
    4
Click the BitTorrent tab. You'll find this on the left side of the Preferences window (Windows) or at the top of the Preferences window (Mac).
  5. Image titled Download With uTorrent Step 5
    5
Click the "Protocol Encryption" drop-down box. This box is near the bottom of the Preferences window. It will have "Disabled" written in it. Clicking it prompts a drop-down menu.
    • On Mac, there is no drop-down menu, instead, look for the "Outgoing Encryption" section at the bottom of the window.
  6. Image titled Download With uTorrent Step 6
    6
Click Enabled or Forced. Doing so will turn on protocol encryption for anything that you download through uTorrent.
    • Selecting Forced will make your connection more consistently secure, but it may also result in a slower download speed or choppy connection at times.
  7. Image titled Download With uTorrent Step 7
    7
Click Apply, then click OK. Both options are at the bottom of the window. This will save your changes. You can now proceed with downloading a torrent of your choice and using it with uTorrent to download the torrent's files.
    • On a Mac, the settings are saved automatically, so just click the red circle in the top-left corner of the window instead

Part2
Downloading with uTorrent utorrent download

  1. Image titled Download With uTorrent Step 8
    1
Find a torrent to download. A torrent is a file that you open in a torrent client (in this case, uTorrent) in order to download the torrent's linked files (e.g., movies, game files, PDFs, etc.). To find the torrent that you want to download, go to a torrent site that you trust and search for the torrent that you want to download.
    • If you don't have a trusted torrent search site, type the name of what you want to download followed by "torrent" and the current year (e.g., "2017") into a search engine and press  Enter.
  2. Image titled Download With uTorrent Step 9
    2
Download the torrent file. Click the Download button on your preferred site, then wait for the torrent to finish downloading. Keep in mind that the Download button will differ in appearance from site to site—in some cases, it might even be a downward-facing arrow instead of a word.
    • Since torrent files are little more than links to files that are stored online, the torrent file itself shouldn't take more than a few seconds to download.
  3. Image titled Download With uTorrent Step 10
    3
Double-click the torrent file. When you installed uTorrent, it should be been installed as your computer's default torrent client; therefore, double-clicking a torrent file will open the torrent in uTorrent.
    • If uTorrent isn't your default torrent client, click File in the upper-left corner of uTorrent (Windows) or the screen while uTorrent is open (Mac), click Add Torrent..., select your torrent in the window, and click Open.
  4. Image titled Download With uTorrent Step 11
    4
Click OK when prompted. It's at the bottom of the options window.
    • You can also review the torrent's download information here, including which of the files you want to download and which folder (e.g., Downloads) you want to download the files to.
  5. Image titled Download With uTorrent Step 12
    5
Wait for your torrent's files to begin downloading. Once you see "Downloading 0.0%" on the torrent's name in the uTorrent window, the torrent's files are officially downloading.
    • It may take a few minutes for the torrent to get up to full download speed.
  6. Image titled Download With uTorrent Step 13
    6
Let the torrent seed after it finishes downloading. "Seeds" are people who have downloaded the torrent's contents and are now uploading that information to the Internet; because of seeds, you can download files through uTorrent. It's considered common courtesy to seed for at least as long as you downloaded in order to give back to the community.
    • Torrents will seed automatically after the files have downloaded.
